Microtransactions arrive on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
Microtransactions have now hit Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and it doesn't surprise, considering last years entry (Advanced Warfare) got the same.
As part of a new update, the microtransactions have arrived in the form of Call of Duty points. These are optional purchases allow players to purchase Rare Supply Drops in the Black Market - this means many new sets of gear, taunts, gestures, camo and more have been added to the market.
The prices are below - if interested:
- 200 Call of Duty Points — £1.60
- 1,000 (+100 bonus) Call of Duty Points — £7.99
- 2,000 (+400 Bonus) Call of Duty Points — £15.99
- 4,000 (+1,000 bonus) Call of Duty Points — £31.99
These points also carry across to the Zombies mode, where you can purchase Vials of Liquid Divinium, which is used to make GobbleGums.
Just remember, these are entirely optional and entirely cosmetic. Players can still earn Crptokeys by ranking up and playing just like before. It's simple for those who want more and have deep pockets.
The in-game currency was made available today (15th) for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC - sorry last gen, you won't be getting anything.
Logging into the multiplayer from today will get you 200 points for free for a limited time.
