Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Release Date Announced
The long-awaited, feverishly rumoured Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will release on the 14th May 2021 for PC and consoles, BioWare revealed today alongside the release of a new trailer for the game (shown above). What's more, it's available to pre-order now for all platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam and Origin). While it's only available on current-gen systems through forwards compatibility, those versions will still benefit from bonus enhancements.
We assume most of you won't need too much of an introduction to the epic three-game saga that makes up the story of Commander Shepard, the Normandy and its crew. It's one of the most beloved gaming (and modern sci-fi) franchises of all time, and this is set to be the superior version of that story. Not only does it come packed with 40+ pieces of DLC for all three games, but it also comes with an array of quality-of-life improvements and more graphical upgrades than you can list on a codex (okay, maybe not THAT many, but there are still a lot).
Get your calendars well and truly marked Mass Effect fans. We're only three and a half months from returning to what is, by many accounts, the greatest sci-fi story in gaming.
