Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series Announced

Telltale Games have announced their next series, which they teased in April 2015: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series.

From the teaser above it seems to be based on the movies more than a brand new tale in the franchise as Batman - The Telltale Series was. Of course, the Walkman could just be to bring in some brand recognition, we really don't know yet.

The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale's unique style of interactive storytelling. In Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot's seat in directing their escapades around the universe. We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we've been developing when it premieres in 2017.

Whether this means there will be more gameplay akin to past Telltale titles, or strongly story-driven like more recent games we won't know until the first episode comes out next year. They have also not yet announced which platforms it will be coming to, other than "PC, consoles and mobile"

It will also be coming to retail, with the first episode on the disc and a code to download the rest.
