Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls Begins

Marvel Rivals has been doing gangbusters ever since its release, with NetEase offering its unique spin on both the hero shooter genre and the Marvel heroes that it features. Now, Season 0 has ended with Season 1: Eternal Night Falls starting today. With the new season comes a new battle pass called Darkhold, offering ten new costumes with associated emotes and sprays. The Luxury Pass will cost 990 Lattice, but you'll receive 600 Lattice and 600 Units back by completing it. Additionally, the game will be coming to NVIDIA GeForce Now.

Also coming in the new season for free are new maps and new characters. Fight through the ruined streets of Midtown or through the legendary Sanctum Santorum as the two members of the Fantastic Four jump into the multiversal fray. Play as Invisible Woman, a Strategist who can create impenetrable force fields and turn herself and her teammates invisible but isn’t a slouch in a fight too. They’ll never see her coming! Or, outsmart and overstretch your enemies with Mister Fantastic, a Duelist who can feel more Vanguard at times, more focused on defense and crowd control than straight-up DPS. Finally, if you have Discord open while playing the game for 15 minutes, you will receive a limited-time Discord Jeff the Land Shark avatar decoration! This special event will run from January 10 10 AM PST to January 16 4:59 PM PST so you better act fast before it’s gone.

Marvel Rivals looks to be one of the best hero shooters to come out in recent memory, taking some of the spotlight Overwatch and its, um, not-quite-a-sequel has held onto since 2016, and it’s not over yet!
