Mario Kart 8 - Excitebike Arena revealed for first DLC pack

A trailer for one of Mario Kart 8's new tracks has been released which is scheduled to be included within the first DLC pack. The Excitebike Arena should be familiar to anyone who has played the original NES version of Excitebike. The track looks to include typical Mario Kart obstacles and pitfalls including shifting ramps, boost pads and puddles of mud.

The track appears to be a good fit for the series and seeing it in action for the first time raises the question of why haven't we seen this sooner? 

The first DLC pack for Mario Kart 8 is scheduled for release in November and will include three new characters including Link, four new vehicles and eight new courses. The second one is scheduled for sometime later next year.
