'Mapping Out' the Latest Update to POSTAL 4: No Regerts

POSTAL 4: No Regerts, the Early Access sequel to open world 'cock about simulator' POSTAL 2 (that explicitly denies the existence of POSTAL III) is looking in good form. The small but frequent updates are keeping developer Running With Scissors in close contact with the game's devoted community as it grows from barebones proof of concept to full POSTAL experience.

Once again seeing players spending a week in the life of The POSTAL Dude, POSTAL 4 brings yet more ways to mess about, shoot stuff up and become embroiled in some strange goings-on in the town of Edensin. With Jon St. John, voice of Duke Nukem, taking up the position of voicing the game's 'hero', it should be clear what sort of tone Running With Scissors is going for with this open world satirical shooter.

The latest update (0.1.4.1.3), dubbed "Fresh paint and happy asses" adds yet more features to the game (including one seasonally relevant addition) and fixes numerous bugs. Here's what you can expect to find upon booting up your freshly updated copy of POSTAL 4: No Regerts:

• A mini-map now graces the bottom-left of the screen!
• Map tools now let players enable/disable various map element like side-quests and POIs.
• An art style overhaul has changed the look of the map screen as well as many in-game assets (particularly those of terrain and rocks).
• Rabbits! The aformentioned seasonal addition is the first of many wildlife additions promised for POSTAL 4.
• ALT+TAB (minimising the game, in other words) now silences the game's audio, thanks to an optional toggle.
• Residents of Edensin are now found donning face mask due to the in-game, *ahem* 'Pigeona Virus', alongside new NPC coughing animations... no comment on these 'inspired' additions from me.
• A 'shadow distance' setting has been added to the graphical options. More graphics settings are always a good thing!
• Third-person kicking animations—admire the sight of foot-based fury in third-person!
• A 'Vitamin X' vendor has been added to Circle J and a 'Pizza Vendor' to Pistolas e Tacos.
