Manuel Noriega Kicked Out Of Court

Manuel Noriega Kicked Out Of Court

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge William H. Fahey threw scorn on the case of Manuel Noriega vs Call of Duty: Black Ops II maker Activision / Blizzard in his finding last week.

He stated that Noriega failed to provide any evidence of harm to his reputation. Instead that given the world-wide reporting of his actions in the 1980s and early 1990s, it was hard to imagine that any such evidence existed. An opinion that after the generals incarceration and trial in absentia that we noted earlier would probably prove elusive to say the least.

Defence Counsel Rudy Giuliani was quoted as saying that the ruling was an important victory, and was important for protecting free speech. The former New York mayor  also released a statement that it was an absurd lawsuit from the very beginning and that it was a good thing that a notorious criminal didn’t win. In typically grandiose Giuliani style he announced that it was "not just a win for the makers of Call of Duty, but a victory for works of art across the entertainment and publishing industries throughout the world."

Even if this hadn't been kicked out of court in November 2014... it would be all over but the bill paying now as Senor Noriega shuffled off this mortal coil on Monday aged 83.
