Mac Users get Master of Orion
It might have taken a little while longer than for their Windows and Linux using cousins, but OS X users are now able to play Master of Orion. The 4X strategy game was a PC classic in the '90s, but NGD Studios and WG Labs are bringing it kicking and screaming into the 21st century with a new version, even bringing some of Sci-Fi's most famous voices to the game.
The added support for the cupertino-based company's machines is part of a wider update to the game released recently. There's additional language support for the game, customer races and a new victory condition for those more keen on advancing their technology than using it to blow their foes out of the sky.
Three new races have also been added to the mix. Firstly, the xenophobic insectoid race, the Klakons are now in game, bringing their hive like efficiency with them. The cybernetically enhanced Meklar are available for those who want the best in technology and production. Last, but not least, the mysterious Terran Khanate are now playable. This is a new race created especially for the reboot.
