Louis Vuitton's Latest Ambassador is Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII

Louis Vuitton are no strangers to original and unique advertising campaign. The French Fashion firm has a long history of creative and often controversial marketing. As well as this, they're known for working with some of the highest regarded fashionistas the world over.

With big names like Selena Gomez, Steffi Graf, Jennifer Lopez, Sean Connery and Hayden Christenson having previously lent their image to the firm, there were some big shoes to fill in their series 4 campaign for the Spring/Summer 2016 campaign. So in a move that's the first of its kind, one of the stars of the latest campaign is Lightning, from Square Enix's FINAL FANTASY XIII series of games.

The character was "interviewed" in the Telegraph's Fashion section and had this to say about the Nicolas Ghesquière designed collection:

"Though his style was new to me, the moment I laid eyes on his collection, it was as if I was hit by a bolt of lightning. I knew that with this, people could change. I could change.

It turns out I was right. His collection fills me with a sense of serenity and pride. All this time, I thought the only style that suited me was one that mirrored who I was: strong and tough. But I was wrong. He changed the way I see myself. Perhaps I’m finally learning who I truly am."

Juergen Teller and Bruce Weber join Tetsuya Nomura and the VisualWorks studio of Square Enix in the campaign. It's a multimedia campaign featuring photography and short video clips. One of the clips sees Lightning strut her stuff as if on a catwalk, before bursting into a flurry of acrobatic activity as she's known for.
