Konami is Bringing Stylish "Roguevania" GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon to PC and Switch

Konami has announced that it is working alongside indie developer GuruGuru to bring the upcoming 2D action title GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon to Steam Early Access this year, with a Switch release planned in 2022. Take a look at the game's jaw-dropping visual design, inspired by traditional Japanese art, in the reveal trailer above.

Based on the 1987 Famicom classic Getsu Fūma Den, this title will see players taking on the role of Getsu Fuma, as he leads his clan in a battle against the evil spirits which have descended upon the world after 1,000 years of peace. Described as a "roguevania", the game will require players to master strategic 2D combat against a range of otherworldly foes. Positioning and timing will be key components to combat, as will adaptability, with a range of vastly different weapons and death bringing all-new level layouts to contend with.

GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon launches on Steam Early Access on the 13th May 2021, with a Switch release planned for 2022.
