Konami Giving European Metal Gear Online Players Free GP

It's safe to say that Konami haven't had a great year on the PR front. There was the very public falling out with Hideo Kojima, the cancellation of Silent Hills, issues with disappearing save files and rumours of a near complete withdrawal from the console market are still circulating with much uncertainty.

With so many issues to contend with in 2015, the last thing the company needed was more issues to rear their ugly head. However, for Metal Gear Online players in European regions, that was exactly what happened. Some players were reporting trying for hours but being unable to join a single game and lots of users were taking to social media to vent their frustrations.

In a move intended to appease the wrath of those disappointed gamers, Konami Europe has announced via their twitter channel that they're rewarding players for their patience with both 3000GP per player and also a boost to the 2 week XP boost, meaning that those who feel like they've missed a week due to the instability will now have an extra week for levelling up.
