Kickstarter game of note: The Bards Tale IV
Today we have the kickstarter for the fourth installment in The Bards Tale series presented by inXile entertainment. inXile entertainment has also brought us games such as Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera.
The Bards Tale IV promises secrets filled in every nook and cranny of the game. Dynamic phase based combat will keep the action fluid and fast while also giving players the time to think of their next moves and plan a attack.
Form your party and evolve them to suit your playstyle.
A interesting thing to note is that when the game hits initial funding every backer will receive emulated versions of Bards Tale one through three if you supported the kickstarter with at least twenty dollars.
InXile has made a deal with Rebecca “Burger” Heineman, the original programmer of the third game, to work on updated versions of the three games based on their Apple IIGS versions, to run natively on modern Windows and Mac PCs.
Bards Tale IV will be built using unreal engine 4 and will be available on Steam and GOG once the game is complete.
Twenty nine days are left to fund the game and at the time of this article it is less then $100,000 away from its initial $1,250,000 funding goal. If you wish to see a oldschool rpg series see new light, you can fund its kickstarter.
