Key Kojima Productions Member Departs From Studio

Kojima Productions has only recently released its first game as an independent studio with Death Stranding, but despite this, veteran member and long-time Metal Gear Solid producer Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi is departing from the studio.

The report comes from VGC, and while specific reasoning behind Imaizumi’s departure is currently unknown, there’s been some speculation that it may be due to disagreements involving other members of Kojima Productions.

Imaizumi has worked as a producer on every numbered Metal Gear Solid since 2004’s Snake Eater, and he also worked as a producer for Death Stranding, making this a rather significant departure for the studio overall.

Death Stranding is available now for PlayStation 4 with a PC release scheduled for Summer 2020.
