KAKU: Ancient Seal Releases 20-Minute Gameplay Trailer

Action-adventure game KAKU: Ancient Seal arrives in Early Access on the 4th of May 2023, featuring a single-player open-ended campaign that you can enjoy for over 30 hours. And courtesy of developer Shenzhen BINGOBELL, you can now watch 20 minutes of gameplay, including boss fights, puzzle solving, and exploration of KAKU’s magical semi-open world setting. The developer has noted that while the core gameplay you experience will be consistent with the full release following its Early Access phase, there will be more exploration, puzzles, and combat added to expand upon the existing content.

KAKU: Ancient Seal places you in the shoes of Kaku, a young man who accidentally falls into the role of a hero and is sent on an adventure with his magical pig, Piji, to recover the power of the elements from powerful monsters. Facing these foes takes a wide variety of skills and equipment, some of which you can see featured in the new gameplay trailer. In fact, the opening moments feature Kaku fighting a large centaur-like enemy; Kaku dodges attacks by rolling and sprinting away, and he uses both ranged and melee weapons to take the boss down. When it comes to puzzle-solving, there are four puzzle-solving levels designed around the power of the four elements — wind, fire, water, and earth — and you’ll be combining those powers as you're navigating ancient labyrinths to uncover their mysteries. There’s an in-depth look at this in the Misty Swamps puzzle section of the gameplay trailer, in which you can see Kaku platforming his way across obstacles, carrying objects while a timer counts down, and more, as he makes his way through a flooded temple.

KAKU: Ancient Seal launches in Steam Early Access on the 4th of May 2023. There is not an official release date for consoles yet, but the team did note in a post on Steam that a console release in late 2023 or early 2024 is possible.
