Introducing the New Steam Deck OLED
Recently, Valve has announced a new variant of their Steam Deck platform, which sports an OLED screen, and it’s coming out on the 16th of November! At the time of writing, that’s only six days away! Check out the video they made on the damn thing!
The Steam Deck OLED is still the same handheld console everyone who has used one should know and love, but it now comes with a variety of improvements to make gaming a lot more fun. As with the name, it sports an HDR OLED screen, a 30–50% better battery life, faster Wi-Fi, and a bunch of other tweaks under the hood. It's also 5% lighter than the original model. Really nice for the wrists. The new Steam Deck currently has two 512GB and 1TB, so choose wisely.
However, what about the old LCD screen Steam Decks? Well, their base prices are now lowered, so if you’ve been on the fence since its release in 2022, this might be a prime opportunity to get yourself or someone you love a nice Christmas present. You might also want to get a docking station too, which is now being sold for $79 USD.
Here are all the prices for the new Steam Deck!
- Steam Deck 512GB OLED: $549
- Steam Deck 1TB OLED: $649
- Steam Deck 1TB OLED Limited Edition (translucent colorway): $679 (US/Canada only)
As for the LCD versions, as long as stock lasts, here are their new prices effective immediately.
- Steam Deck 64GB LCD: Now $349
- Steam Deck 256GB LCD: Now $399
- Steam Deck 512GB LCD: Now $449
The Steam Deck OLED is available starting November 16th at 10AM Pacific, so I hope you get yours before the scalpers get their grubby hands on them!
