Humble Weekly FMV Bundle

Humble Weekly FMV Bundle

For those of us that were around in the nineties to see the birth of CD-based gaming, FMV games are a bit of a bittersweet memory. There was some absolute corkers at the time that used the medium perfectly. But for every Mad Dog Mcrea, there were a handful of games like Harvester stinking the place up. As technology moved on, it was a genre of game that fell out of favour for a long time, but with chroma key technology becoming more mainstream now, FMV games are starting to see a resurgence amongst indie developers.

In the midst of this resurrection of a genre is Humble. Their latest bundle showcases some of the greats of yesteryear alongside some of the future classics of recent times.

As always, the bundle allows you to pay what you want to receive the games. The first tier includes the complete Tex Murphy detective series alongside MISSING: An Interactive Thriller - Episode One. Also in this tier is the game regarded by many as one of the best of the genre, 1993's The 7th Guest, alongside its sequel The 11th Hour.

The second tier of the bundle features only two games, but they're both big hitters. First up is Roundabout, a bizarre game that pits you as a limo driver in a constantly rotating car. The second game is number eight on our top 10 games of 2015 list, Her Story. This polarising game is seen as both genius and dreadful in equal measure, so if you want to find out which side of the fence you fall on, then you could do a lot worse than picking up the bundle to find out.

Worth it alone for Her Story, after all it is on GameGrin's top 10.
