Settlement Survival, the challenging low poly city building sim released version 1.0 on the 24th of October, after a successful early access period. Over the past 12 months since its initial early access release on Steam the game has seen multiple improvements and additions from developer Gleamer Studio. The game primarily focuses on providing a challenging environment for hardened veterans of the city-building sim genre, but due to its fully customisable procedural generation options, those looking for a more laidback experience can find enjoyment in it too.

Settlement Survival allows players to manipulate the landscape, manage limited supplies, plant crops, hunt wildlife, gather resources, and develop trade routes; players are given complete creative freedom to build their dream settlement however they choose. The game also features unique maps with seasonal weather cycles and natural disasters that can directly affect your settlement and its citizens. From torrential rain and heavy snowstorms to tornadoes and fires, you’ll need to keep your ear to the ground and plan if you want to survive.

The end result is a city-building sim with layers of complexity, creative freedom, and customisation that can challenge even the most experienced builder.

• Develop a currency and establish trade. Whether you’re exchanging artistic items of high value, unprocessed products, or unlocking the mint to create a common currency; trade is key.

• Recruiting Mayors to set the tone of your settlement. Establish the building of homes, control crime, and ensure any baby booms do not negatively impact your available resources.

• Explore unique maps. With each map randomly generated — right down to its resources and landmarks — every experience is unique and brings with it its own challenges.
• Heed the early warning signs of natural disasters; bunker down and secure your citizens away from danger.

• Discover rare blueprints. Offering powerful effects, unique themes, and styles, rare blueprints are an opportunity to customise your settlement even further when you’ve mastered trading.
