Halo Infinite Gameplay Premiere
Finally, we've been blessed with gameplay of the next hotly anticipated entry in the Halo franchise from 343 Industries and SkyBox Labs, Halo Infinite. Check out the eight-minute trailer—which kicked off 23rd July's Xbox Games Showcase—at the top of this page.
At a glance, Halo Infinite looks very much like its predecessors. The more the trailer unfolds, however, the more of the game's innovations come out to play. Firstly, we're presented with an open Halo ring to fight through, suggesting at least some semblance of open world gameplay. This environment is reportedly "several times larger than the last two Halo games combined", which isn't the most clear-cut comparison but paints an impressive image, regardless.
A wrist-mounted grappling hook also features in the trailer, useful for traversing the scaled-up environment. It'll be interesting to see the gameplay opportunities afforded by such an increased freedom-of-movement in Halo Infinite.
Also look out for new weapons and a first look at (presumably) the game's antagonists, The Banished—Master Chief's "most ruthless" foe yet.
Halo Infinite will launch alongside the Xbox Series X—it'll also be available for Xbox One and PC at launch.
