Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander Comes to Steam Early Access Soon

Massive Damage, Inc were one of the first companies to benefit from Square Enix's indie leg-up programme, the Square Enix Collective. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Japanese Giant have helped the Canadian developers to get their game to market, culminating in an Early Access release for Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander coming on the 21st April, with Kickstarter backers enjoying the beta already, everyone will be able to join them very soon in playing the first of three planned acts to the game. 

The game plays like a cross between a traditional JRPG and a space strategy game, with elements of both genres organically fused to create a whole new genre of space game. There's an emergent storyline throughout and the whole thing comes packages in a gloriously retro-looking pixel art style. 

“As kids, we all grew up playing these amazing 90s space role-playing and adventure games and we really wanted to bring that sense of mystery, humor, and nostalgia in the way we designed the Halcyon 6 universe, alien cultures and player characters’ interactions.” said Ken Seto, CEO of Massive Damage.
