.hack//G.U. Last Recode Nintendo Switch Port Announced for Series' 20th Anniversary
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the .hack franchise, Bandai Namco announced a port of .hack//G.U. Last Recode for the Nintendo Switch on 2nd December. The game was previously released on PC and PlayStation 4 in September 2017 and is set to release on Nintendo Switch on 11th March 2022.
.hack//G.U. Last Recode is a remaster of the second set of games in the .hack series, .hack//G.U. Vol. 1//Rebirth, .hack//G.U. Vol. 2//Reminisce, and .hack//G.U. Vol. 3//Redemption, all of which were originally released on the PlayStation 2. .hack//G.U. Last Recode also includes a new fourth game to the set, .hack//G.U. Vol. 4//Reconnection. The games follow Haseo, a Player Killer Killer (PKKer) in a popular virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game (VR MMORPG) known as “The World,” as he quests for answers and revenge after his friend Shino is put into a coma while playing the game. Despite the topic of the series, each game is a single-player action RPG.
.hack//G.U. Last Recode is available on PlayStation 4 and PC now and will be available on Nintendo Switch next year.
