GTFO Players Collectively Unlock Two Secret Expeditions
Developer 10 Chambers, formed of ex-members of the PAYDAY team, is making some bold choices when it comes to updating its latest Early Access co-op shooter GTFO. In its latest Rundown (002), two of the ten new expeditions (levels, essentially) were locked to all players, requiring that 1000 players survive a specific expedition to unlock them. Well, they did it; the two final expeditions are playable and as challenging as the rest.
GTFO isn't updated like most games. Instead of new content joining a pool of existing content, it instead replaces it. This means that the ten expeditions featured in Rundown 002 are the only ten available in-game right now and will disappear come Rundown 003. It's a risky choice, likely to upset many, but it does promote 'keeping up' with the game's develop to ensure content isn't missed out on.
Speaking of Rundown 003, 10 Chambers has disclosed that the next content drop is planned for release "before the summer holidays in Sweden". It should be noted that the developer is Swedish; this isn't just an arbitrary reference pulled out of thin air!
The two final expeditions for GTFO's Rundown 002 are out now. The game, currently in Early Access on Steam, is available for £29.99.
