Get to Grips with Building in the Smalland: Survive the Wild Crafting Update!
Smalland: Survive the Wilds recently exited Early Access with it's 1.0 update, which was followed by new features such as the Faction system and World Events. Now, with the freshly released Crafting Update, the core mechanic of the game has received a long-awaited update chock-full of goodies!
While the update contains multiple small fixes and improvements, the biggest new features are as follows:
Crafting stations can now access containers within a certain radius, allowing you to use the resources within without having to run back and forth! You can see the range of this feature whenever you place or inspect a station or container. With the update, some craftables now require some time to complete, meaning some longer crafting times. You can, thankfully, leave the crafting station to do its thing while you hunt some spiders! While active, the stations will now show all-new visuals and VFXs, to make it easy to see what is and is not active! Finally, some recipes will now require you to add fuel, such as firewood to burn, in order to complete them. A new slot has been added to stations for the requirement.
In slightly less crafting related news, the build UI has been overhauled, adding extra tabs for quick filtering through the menus. A new item, called a Landclaim totem, can now be placed in the world, allowing players to claim a plot of land for themselves! These areas can be either private or common. Finally, a new type of building component has been added, the cubes! These scalable shapes can be built in any material to suit your architectural needs!
The Smalland: Survive the Wild Crafting Update is available from today across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S!
