Gears 5 Won’t Include a Season Pass

Players who are adamantly against loot boxes and season passes will be happy to know that according to The Coalition’s recent website post, Gears 5 won’t include any extra paid content, at least in terms of DLC maps anyway. Gear Packs (which were Gears of War 4’s alternative to loot boxes) will also be absent from this latest entry.

That’s not to say that the game won’t include any extra paid content however. While loot boxes may be out, there are still direct store purchases that can be made which include character customisation options. The Coalition have assured that the in-game store won’t include any items that give players an unfair advantage.

Gears 5 releases on 10th September 2019 for Xbox One and PC. The title will also be available at launch through Game Pass.
