GDC 2018: Google Play Instant, try games without downloading on Android.

Google Play Instant allows Android users to try out games without having to download a thing. The experience will be available on the Google Play Store and Google Play Games app. While the collection of instant games are small there are popular titles such as Clash Royale and Words with Friends will be more than enough to test the new service.

Installing games and apps is no real hardship to the user, however, the ability to instantly try a game without having to make space on a device may help in the decision to download the full game or app, especially while on the go.

The Google Play Games app has also had a redesign in order to provide more detailed searches for apps and games. The new Arcade tab allows users to view trailers and use tags such as “New” or “Action” to better find what they want. The app will also show news and YouTube videos relevant to the users favourite games.
