Gangs of Sherwood Has Been Delayed
Those excited to lead a rebellion in Appeal Studios' and Nacon's upcoming Gangs of Sherwood might be slightly disappointed to hear that the game has been delayed for a while — though, not that long. Find out when the new release date is and why it has been delayed!
Announced in a post by the official @GangsofSherwood X account, the team released an image that announces it — Gangs of Sherwood is not going to be released at the normal 2nd of November release date, and it will be delayed by a couple of weeks — four, to be exact. On the Steam page, the Robin-Hood-inspired title now has the amended release date of the 30th of November 2023.
The image shared on the post sheds a bit of light as to why the game won't be released — player feedback. According to the team, there was abundant feedback from the demo period that the game had during the October Steam Next Fest that made the team decide to take a delay. The extra time will be used to fine-tune the experience, incorporate improvements, and truly fluff up the game to its full potential.
Though the news is sad to hear, the post has been received with overwhelmingly positive support from everyone, even though some are disappointed. After the state of which many games released lately — and notably, this year — players across the world are starting to associate delays with better releases and superior products post-release, which is a rarity given the track record that 2023 has had.
Though it will arrive a month earlier, people are optimistic that the game will be all the better for the delay. Expect to wage war against the Sheriff of Nottingham when Gangs of Sherwood releases on the 30th of November for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S!
