gamescom 2024: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

The penultimate game to be shown at gamescom’s opening night was Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The great circle in the title refers to the connections between great civilisations. The new trailer lets us hear from Nolan North as he talks about how getting to wear the famous hat is a dream come true for him. With the game being first person, North tells us, it means that we all get to share in that thrill of playing as the world’s most famous explorer, the one who predates Mr Drake and Ms Croft by many years.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes in the sights and sounds of all of the films, and all of the great civilisations are featured. From deserts to jungles and everything in between. The details of these civilisations are explored in detail with Indie’s camera and journal taking some of the spotlight. It means that you’ll be using the historical details you find to solve puzzles, with the trailer showing us that “adventure points” can be collected along the way. 

After the trailer came to an end, we were treated to a release date announcement: 9th of December 2023 on Game Pass and Steam. Machine Games and Bethesda’s hotly-anticipated exploration adventure is also coming to the PlayStation 5 version shortly after, in the Spring of 2025.
