gamescom 2022: High On Life

High On Life is the new FPS from Rick and Morty creator, Justin Roiland, and his studio Squanch Games. Honestly, after watching the gameplay trailer at gamescom 2022, I’m unsure what to think. The whole trailer is a boss fight, and unfortunately a rather boring one at that. Visually it's interesting and it all has that identifiable Roiland flair; everything not only has eyes but also the ability to talk. The knife appears to be a downright psychopath.

Unfortunately I can’t help but feel they should have used something else to showcase the gameplay. The level was visually restricted, being quite bland, and with the length of the trailer it almost began to drag a little. Justin Roiland's almost incessant ad libbed ramblings were the best bit - that's not a good sign.

Set for release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC on 25th October.
