gamescom 2022: Callisto Protocol

Glen Schofield and Striking Distance Studios revealed more of their hotly anticipated survival-horror, The Calisto Protocol, at this year's gamescom on 23rd June. We saw two separate sections of gameplay, giving us a good collective look at some of the new game.

It appears the limited HUD layout from Dead Space - including ammunition and health indicators attached to specific items on your kit rather than simple bar or counter. The game also appears the same ludicrous levels of gore have also returned as we see the protagonist chopped in half by a fan blade, while in another scene we see him use his telekinesis (another returning feature) to throw a beaten up and dismembered enemy into a grinder.

New features include stealth mechanics - including stealth takedowns. and enemy mutations, where the enemy spawns tentacles and keeps up the aggression rather than simply dying. Hopefully we’ll see more before the game finally releases on 2nd December 2022.
