Game Developers Choice Awards Winners Revealed
The Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2020 may have been postponed physically, but staples of the event bravely continued in virtual form. The Game Developers Choice Awards, now in its 20th year, served as an example of this with the pre-recorded awards ceremony being streamed on 18th March via Twitch. Anyone looking to catch up on the ceremony will find the entire stream archived on YouTube.
Katie Stern, General Manager of GDC, expressed pride with the event's perseverance in the face of such "trying times", adding: "Games can help us connect, they can inspire us to create, and sometimes they help us to escape. There is perhaps no better time for us to appreciate what games mean to us".
Except for the 'Audience Award' and 'Special Awards', every accolade was voted for by developers and game creators as members of International Choice Awards Network (ICAN), an invitation-only organisation devoted to recognising the stand-out games, people and studios of our industry.
