FROM SOFTWARE's Project Beast Revealed as Bloodborne
Following much rumour and speculation about Project Beast it has been revealed that the footage from the much circulated and discussed videos is from FROM SOFTWARE's upcoming game Bloodborne. Created by Demons Souls and Dark Souls creator and director and new FROM SOFTWARE president, Hidetaka Miyazaki, Bloodborne is said to be a spiritual successor to the Souls series, but by no means a sequel.
Despite this; it seems that Miyazaki has brought back the dark and foreboding atmosphere of the Souls games. Set in the 19th century city of Yharnham, the player must explore the city that is afflicted by a mysterious plague that turns all within into monsters and beasts. However, unlike the Souls games, Bloodborne will feature powerful firearms with which to dispatch the abominations, although the director has warned that wading in guns a' blazing will result in a premature death.
The gameplay trailer above shows off the selection of different weapons at a players disposal, including scythes, battleaxes, blades and a powerful shotgun, we also get to see some of the horrors that we'll be up against, as well as some elements of the game that will be very familiar to those that have played either Demon's or Dark Souls.
Bloodborne will be a Sony exclusive, released on the PlayStation 4 at some point in 2015.
