Forget The Fortress and Set Foot on a Quest With the Dwarf Fortress Adventure Mode Trailer

One of the best things about Dwarf Fortress is how it creates a venerable and lore-filled world for you to enjoy as your little colony either thrives or... well, doesn't. However, something that always felt sad, at least to me, was how you couldn't really experience the world through the eyes of one of its inhabitants. Well, now you can!

In Adventure Mode, you can either create a new world to explore with the usual creation tools or you can pick one you're currently working on or has found its, usually destructive, conclusion. Create a character and set their background based on your world, create a party and set off to seek your fortune! You can take on the many enemies and fauna of the land while also taking on quests and adventures. With the customisable settings, you can decide the amount of direction the world provides you.
