Forever Skies' Next Update Will Break Save Compatibility

Forever Skies is a first-person post-apocalyptic title that's been out on Early Access since June 2023, and it's being developed and published by Far From Home — a small team of 20 developers. The latest Steam post brings some bad — but understandable — news: the upcoming update brings so much change to the game that it won't work with the current saves.

A heartfelt and detailed message from Wojtek Liwanowski, one of the game's Producers, reveals that the team has been arduously fighting to keep every new update compatible, but this one has been impossible to fix. In the post, they mention that Far From Home wanted to be honest and transparent about the problem as soon as possible and that, as compensation, they would be creating a special poster and in-game artefact to commemorate the past journeys.

Update 1.7.0 marks the upcoming end of Early Access, and while there's not a lot of information about what sort of features will be added aside from co-op, it seems there's a lot to look forward to.
