Focus Entertainment Shares First Q&A for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
With the successful release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Focus Entertainment is working on its latest platform, Focus Together, to give players the opportunity to submit ideas and vote for upcoming features and changes coming to the game.
From the feedback shared, it seems like the team will be making some changes, several of which I complained about in my review of the game. Mainly, of course, it seems like the complaints about the Campaign mode (with Veteran being too hard) and the AI bots being too A (artificial) and too little I (intelligent) are being listened to, though the post does share some insight as to why your Battle-Brothers were coded that way:
Bots seem a bit passive because we don't want them to take the spotlight from the player. However, they can sometimes be a bit too passive. In the next patch, we have a few improvements of their behavior against boss fights in the campaign. We are also considering improving their involvement during specific objectives in the campaign for a later patch.
It was due to this that I mentioned I was unable to play in the hardest difficulty, and many players struggled to get through the Veteran difficulty due to the ineptitude of the bots. The difficulty is also being adjusted slightly, but it won't be affected too much, as the team wants to see how much the AI bot change assists in allowing players to enjoy Veteran difficulty more.
If you want to check out the full Q&A, we suggest you find the Steam post right here, where you can learn more about what changes are coming to PvE, quality of life, PvP, and some of the most requested features in the forum!
