Five Nights at Freddy's World Announced
Continuing the trend of releasing games at a rate of knots, highly-regarded indie developer Scott Cawthon has announced another upcoming game in the Five Nights at Freddy's series.
Posting to the Steam community for Five Nights at Freddy's 4 Scott said:
It's very important for me to say again that there will NOT be a Five Nights at Freddy's 5. The story is complete, and the Halloween update and new game will not add to it.
He went on to surprise fans by stating that not only will the new game not be a continuation of the previous story, but it won't even be the same genre:
The new game that I'm working on will be called FNAF World. It will not be a horror game, but a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions. I've been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week.
There's no fixed release date for the game yet, which will be hitting Steam, iOS and Android when it's ready. Given the speed Scott usually works on his games, it might have been finished while you were reading this article, however 2016 seems more likely as he's stated that he doesn't expect to have a demo ready in time for Halloween. For all the details, you can read the full announcement here on Steam.
