Fire Emblem Fates Coming to the West

Fire Emblem Fates has proven to be a huge hit since its Summer release in Japan. The game was the tenth biggest selling game of the year with over half a million units shifted. As well as being one of the first 3DS games to support DLC, it also supports the Amiibo function of the New Nintendo 3DS.

Today, Nintendo launched a website in English to show off the upcoming release of the 14th game in the Fire Emblem series to Western shores. There's no word of exactly where in the world it will launch, but given the success of previous titles, it's safe to assume we will see it here in the UK. The only confirmed countries so far though are USA and Canada, where the game will be released on the 19th February.

The game has been split into two versions: Conquest and Birthrights. Each is a stand-alone story in the same universe with the same characters but each shows it from a different point of view. Buying one of the two games will give you the option to download the other at a discount, meaning seeing the complete story will not be quite as expensive as buying two DS carts.
