Final Fantasy XIV Tokyo Fan Festival Overview

The 2023 - 2024 Final Fantasy XIV fan festival has finally reached it's final location of Tokyo Japan and has culminated in a bundle of news concerning the next expansion to the popular MMORPG, Dawntrail. While we'll cover some of the releases as separate pieces, here are the major announcements as a whole:

To start us off, three new Jobs have been added to the roster: the colourful Pictomancer, the speedy Viper, and the limited job of the Beastmaster! Of the three, the Pictomancer was the main focus of the Tokyo show. The two DPS jobs start off at level 80.

If new Jobs weren't enough, a new playable race is also on its way, with the addition of the Female Hrothgar. These lithe and muscular women may be relatively few in the population, but make up for it with their predisposition for leadership.

With the level cap leaping to the three-digit count of 100, players can try out these new Jobs or see how the older ones evolve in the Thural, the newest continent opened for exploration and containing such areas as Urqopacha, Yak T'el, Kozama'uka, Shaaloani, and the recently unveiled Heritage Found, land of lightning, thunderstorms, and streaks of levin.

The addition of new areas naturally entail the inclusion of deadly dungeons and fearsome raids! While we don't know much yet, the title of the new Raid Series is "The Arcadion" and by the looks of it, it's going to be quite the light show! A new Ultimate Raid, Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) will also be added, in addition to a bundle of other dungeons featuring varying locations from a lush jungle to a thunderous mountainside.

Finally, new lifestyle content has been revealed in the form of Cosmic Exploration, though we do not know much on the subject at this point. New field operations akin to "The Forbidden Land, Eureka" and "Save the queen"  are also coming in the expansion.

In other Final Fantasy XIV related reveals, a crossover questline, titled "The Path Infernal", with Final Fantasy XVI was advertised to release in early April. Patch 6.55 is set to release on 16th January and will include continuation of the main scenario in Growing Light – Part 2, the next installment of Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures and a new trial titled" The Gilded Araya", beginning the path to Dawntrail.

With the expansion, Final Fantasy XIV will also receive a major update to its graphical outlook, including higher resolution textures, new character models, and other improvements!

With the end of the Tokyo Fan Festival, Final Fantasy XIV celebrates over 30 million total registered players by expanding the Free Trial to include more Stormblood content, a new playable race, and five playable jobs!

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is set to release Spring 2024.
