Final Fantasy XIV Online Patch 6.2 Gets A Release Date And New Trailer
Today, Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XIV Online Patch 6.2 Buried Memory will launch on the 23rd of August. Revealed during the most recent Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast presented by Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida, the news came with a new trailer and information on the game’s latest chapter, which includes fresh battle challenges and the highly anticipated Island Sanctuary.
During the broadcast, Yoshida showed viewers a demonstration of Island Sanctuary, a new type of solo content allowing players to build and customize their farms. In this new content, players will need to gather materials, make facilities, care for creatures, and more without needing prior crafting or gathering experience.
Discussed during the event were additional details for Patch 6.2, including PvP updates, Pandæmonium: Abyssos, and more. The developers also provided an overview of the content that players can look forward to in the new patch. Here are some of them: New Main Scenario Quests, New Side Story Quests, a New Dungeon, New 8-Player Raid, and much more.
The Final Fantasy team also shared some extra details about Patch 6.25, which does not have a release date right now, and they said it would arrive later. It includes New Side Story Quests, New Weapon Enhancement Quests, New Tribal Quests, New “Variant Dungeons” Battle Content, and other enhancements.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, and Mac OS X. In a February 2022 Letter from the Producer LIVE stream, Square Enix said the game will receive support for the next 10 years.
