Final Fantasy XIV Online - Patch 5.5: Death Unto Dawn Release Date Unveiled

Death Unto Dawn, otherwise known as patch 5.5 for the outrageously popular MMO FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, will release on the 13th April. The patch will pave the way for the release of paid expansion Endwalker (trailer shown above) with a slew of free content alongside various gameplay enhancements. Here are the highlights:

• New Main Scenario Quest - Leading into the Endwalker storyline.
• New Alliance Raid - Part three of the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse alliance raid series.
• New Sorrow of Werlyt Quest.
• New Trial - The Cloud Deck.
• New Dungeon - Paglth’an.
• Save the Queen Questline Update - Including a new area, Zadnor.
• New Unreal Trial - For level 80 players only.
• Explorer Mode - A new mode which lets players explore dungeons without enemies for the purposes of exploring and taking screenshots. Riding mounts and using emotes is also allowed in Explorer Mode.

With this patch, Final Fantasy XIV Online is ready for Endwalker and the end of both Hydaelyn and Zodiark's story. The fourth expansion for the MMO is set to release in autumn 2021.

Patch 5.5 for Final Fantasy XIV Online will release on the 13th April.
