Final Fantasy III Steam Release Confirmed

Recent rumours that Square Enix would be releasing Final Fantasy III for the PC have been confirmed as the developers have confirmed in an announcement that the title would soon be getting a release on Steam.

This upcoming version of Final Fantasy III will be based on the Nintendo DS version of the game that was released in 2007 but will further upgraded graphics, improved character models, expanded story sequences and the inclusion of Steam trading cards and achievements.

The game was originally released in Japan in 1990 and didn't receive a worldwide until much later, with Final Fantasy VI previously released in the West as III. Square-Enix hasn't given a released date or price yet, but with a Steam listing this information will likely be available soon.
