Far Cry: The Wild Expedition Announced

Far Cry: The Wild Expedition Announced

Ubisoft have put out a press release this week announcing that they will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the original "but can it run this" benchmark-in-a-game Far Cry
by releasing Far Cry: The Wild Expedition, From February the 14th you will be able to pick up Far Cry Classic, Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon  PlayStation, Xbox 360 and PC for £29.99. Alongside this Far Cry Classic will be available on February the 12th as a standalone downloadable title for the Xbox LIVE Arcade and the Sony PlayStation Network at the price of £7.99.

In this valentines gift for the gamer in your life you get all 4 Far Cry  games.

The original Far Cry Classic has had an HD makeover and takes you back to a beautiful tropical island in the persona of Jack Carver, charter boat captain and general hero at large in the FPS "genetic engineering is bad, m'kay?" game we all know and love.

Far Cry 2 takes you to Africa, on the hunt for The Jackal. Of course your task is complicated by a dose of malaria, rival warlords getting in the way and all sorts of environmental dangers.

Far Cry 3 leaves you stranded, caught in a bloody conflict between psychotic warlords and indigenous rebels, where your only escape is through drugs or the muzzle of a gun.

Far Cry 3 : Blood Dragon puts you in 2007. It is the future. You are the Mark IV Cyber Commando Sergeant Rex Colt. Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war in the 90s. Your task? Get the girl, kill the bad guys and save the world.

We remember the glory days of the franchise when "I can run Far Cry" was the clarion call of the high end PC gamer and there was a custom version supporting 64bit windows XP with extra shooty bits and bigger explosions and it's great to see Ubisoft celebrating what was a landmark release in the FPS genre with a 4 pack of even more shooty bits and bigger explosions.
