Far Cry Primal Getting Survivor Mode
Fallout 4 is not the only game this year to receive a survivor mode. Ubisoft have announced that their caveman simulator Far Cry Primal will be receiving its very own survivor mode in the next update coming April 12th.
The new planned update will make things a lot harder for those looking for the true 10,000 BC experience.
It will remove the mini-map, increase the fog of war, takes away your owl and add permadeath. Not only that, but beast-taming will be more tamed. You can still tame beasts, but they'll be less reliable and the more powerful beasts will be harder to tame. Plus, if they die, they die for good as you will be no longer able to revive them.
As for your character, your stamina will become key in survival. A stamina gauge will deplete with your actions and when empty you'll be weaker and slower. Fortunately enemy encounters will be reduced, but those you do encounter will be more challenging.
The only way to refill is by resting. Your hunter vision will get a slight boost to brave the night a little longer and crafting will require a few seconds to build instead of instantly. Finally, you will also be more susceptible to cold conditions as you traverse the mountains, so you'll need to build campfires to stay warm.
Unlike Fallout 4's survivor mode, you can still fast-travel, but doing so will consume stamina and food.
All this will certainly add longevity to the game and Far Cry Primal is a great game to immerse yourself in, so why not add a survivor mode. Keep an eye out for update, when it comes available 12th of April. In the meantime be sure to check out our review here.
