Fallout Is Coming Back To Steam
Fallout fans rejoice. Bethesda Softworks announced on Twitter last week that it is working to bring back Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics to Steam.
We’re working to return classic @Fallout games (1, 2, Tactics) to Steam and will provide an update when they’re ready to go.

Fallout is an open world role-playing video game developed and published in 1997 by Interplay Entertainment. The games have caused a few issues over the years since Bethesda acquired the Intellectual Property rights for them in 2007. During this process Interplay was granted a string of merchandising rights which allowed them to sell the original Fallout Games. A nasty lawsuit followed in 2012, the result of which was that the contract allowing Interplay to sell the games expired on December 31st 2013.
The expiration of Interplays rights meant digital retailers like Steam and GOG.com had to remove the games from sale. Bethesda are now working to remove and adjust existing publisher details, legal text etc on the games so they can put them back up for sale.
