ESRB Explains M-Rating for Batman: Arkham Knight

ESRB Explains M-Rating for Batman: Arkham Knight

Of course, the ESRB could have left it simply as "Blood, Language, Suggestive Themes, Violence", which the M rating covers, but they have also explained.

Here are some choice highlights:

Cutscenes depict characters getting shot (on and off camera) while restrained or unarmed.

Large bloodstains/pools of blood appear in crime scenes and in the aftermath of violent acts; one room depicts a person torturing a character on a bloody operating table.

Some sequences allow players to use tank-like vehicles with machine gun turrets and rockets to shoot enemies; a vehicle's wheels are also used to torture an enemy in one sequence.

The words “b*tch,” “gobsh*te,” and “a*s” appear in the dialogue.

So it certainly sounds like Batman will be having some fun when the Arkham Knight comes to Gotham on PC, PS4 and Xbox One later this year.

Me thinks Penquin says Gobshite a lot. I'm fine with this mature Batman. It is Scarecrow afterall and probally be a bit f'd up in some scenes.

I hate British Penguin... Absolute worst thing in Arkham.

Agreed, Nolan North's cockney accent needs some work.

Maybe this would give them a good reason to allow Catwoman to go topless?
