Elite Dangerous: Horizons Expansion Now Free for All Players

Originally released as an expansion for Elite Dangerous in 2015, Elite Dangerous: Horizons is now free for all owners of the base game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Take a look at the expansion's trailer above.

The news comes as developer Frontier Developments prepares to launch the game's next expansion, Elite Dangerous: Odyssey in early 2021. Until then, however, all players will have to content themselves with the Horizon expansion's suite of content including:

• Planetary landings and surface recon vehicles
• Seamless travel between space and planetary surfaces
• Multi-crew joint operations
• Weapon Crafting
• Ship-launched fighters
• Permission to land at numerous locations, including star ports
• And more...

Existing owners of the Horizons expansion will be granted an "exclusive Azure paint job", compatible with all 41 ships currently in the game
