EA Not Sending Out Review Codes for The Sims 4
The reasons for this are unclear and could be practically anything. All that's known is that they won't be sending anyone code to review. This will result in reviews being published much later than they should be, with such a big-name game release.
It is possible that EA just want everyone to purchase it on faith and what they've experienced in the Create-A-Sim demo. It could also be because they feel there will not be enough content to satisfy reviewers until it has been in the public's hands long enough to populate the community area. After all, the Create-A-Sim feature has limited clothing options, which has some people worried.
This isn't the first game to deny reviewers code, and EA is under no obligation to do so. But given the amount of content they have been showing off in videos and constant blog updates, it is strange to hold it back.
