EA Acquires Glu Mobile for $2.1 Billion

EA has purchased Glu Mobile for a sum of $2.1 billion, firmly establishing its plans to take on the ever-growing smartphone market and broaden its consumer base.

Glu Mobile's 800-strong team is behind dozens of titles currently available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. In addition to a range of original titles, the studio has produced games for the likes of Disney, WWE, MLB and Kim Kardashian. Additionally, it is behind mobile adaptations of familiar gaming franchises like Diner Dash.

While the deal is being treated as complete, it hasn't officially closed yet. The transaction is expected to close in the quarter ending 30th June 2021.
