E3 2015 - Nintendo Amiibo Figures and Compatibility Announced

Nintedo has announced that they will be expanding on their Amiibo collection that will be changing some games in a big way. Karthik Bala showed us today at E3 that we would be seeing some surprising characters in the new Skylander Supercharger’s game.

In this addition to the Skylanders series e we will be seeing Donkey Kong and Bowser in an interesting new crossover, thanks to Amiibo. The new Amiibo feature Turbo Charged DK on his vehicle the Barrel Blaster, and Hammer Slam Bowser on his Clown Cruiser. These characters will have their standard attacks in the game such as Bowser slamming the ground with his body, and DK throwing barrels around, however they have also thrown in some surprise attacks that follow the lore of early Bowser and DK.

Not only will these new Amiibo figures function with the new Skylanders, they will also be compatible with future games simply by twisting the base of the figure. Considering the protectiveness Nintendo has over its various games and characters, this was quite an unexpected addition to the Amiibo collection.
