E3 2014: Little Big Planet 3 Announced

Sony weren't very dramatic with their reveal of Little Big Planet 3, but the fans went mad all the same. Members of the Sony XDev team came onto the stage, each with a controller and straight away, we were being introduced to the new content that we can expect from LBP3.

First off is the return of Sackboy, of course. He now has the ability to climb netting and use new power-ups such as the Pumpanator which pumps out air and can move objects. We were then introduced to Sackboy’s newest friends Oddsock, Toggle and Swoop. Oddsock takes the shape of a dog and is much faster than Sackboy so he can use this to speed up objects such as a wheel. He also has the ability to wall jump. Toggle is the heaviest and biggest of the group and can use his weight to push big objects down. He can also transform at the touch of a button to become tiny and weightless so he can fit through small gaps. Toggle takes the form of a bird and can fly and carry the other characters.

Problem solving has always been a big part of Little Big Planet and it’s no different this time around. Creation has been another aspect and there are thousands upon thousands of user created levels for LBP and LBP2. All of these user created levels will be available on LBP3 and will utlise the upgraded graphics of the PlayStation 4.

Little Big Planet 3 will be arriving November 2014.
