Dreamfall Chapters Returns To Episodic Format

Red Thread Games games have announced via their kickstarter that they are returning to an episodic format for Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey.

After abandoning the episodic format in October of 2012, they have returned to it because they are not on track to meet the release date estimated a year and a half ago, and have taken a long, hard look at their schedule and budget.

Kickstarter and PayPal backers will receive all five episodes free of charge as they're released, complete with all the shineys they promised, although physical copies of ther game will only be sent out after book 5 is out so they aren't shipping incomplete games to backers. New customers will be able to purchase a season pass via Steam, GOG and the Humble Store and get all 5 books that way.

Of course, anyone who wishes to pre-purchase the game can can still slacker-back Dreamfall Chapters and get all the episodes as they're released.
