Dragon Age: The Veilguard Unveils Opening Moments in Official Gameplay Reveal

The highly-anticipated official gameplay reveal for Dragon Age: The Veilguard has finally arrived, following mixed reception to its Xbox Showcase trailer shown over the weekend. With this first 20-minute look, we follow Rook (the new player protagonist) and Varric into Minthrathous as they search for Neve Gallus for a lead on Solas. But their stroll through the stunning city turns into a full-on sprint when demons begin falling from the sky in true DA fashion. 

Be sure to watch the trailer linked above to see the combat, hear returning and new voice actors for the companions, check out the new demon designs, and more! You'll notice the dialogue wheel is back (with a new Veilguard aesthetic), you can choose your Rook's backstory, and you'll be able to issue commands and direct your companions via an ability wheel. However, not much party-based combat is on display, since this early point in the game locks your ability to direct other party members.
